The Pines began as a vision, which steadily shaped itself into reality through the dedication of avid golfers, filling the void left by Morgantown Country Club’s closure. Pro designer Edmund Ault was engaged to lay out our 18-hole championship course, and carefully crafted its contours around the beautiful rolling hills of West Virginia. Incorporated as a private club in 1968, it opened officially to shareholders in 1970, and to this day is considered the best golfing experience in the Morgantown area. In addition to its course, the Pines offers a driving range and putting green, a winter simulator, heated swimming pool, clubhouse facilities with lockers and showers, and a restaurant, Tavern at the Pines, which is open to the public. As a member of the United States Golf Association, the Pines Country Club works with the USGA to offer a modern, computerized handicap system. Our Club Pro, PGA Professional, Russell Reid, has been recognized multiple years by Golf Digest Magazine as the number one teacher in West Virginia. He heads up an extremely popular series of Junior Golf Clinics every summer, and keeps his Pro Shop stocked with everything you might need to improve and enjoy your game. The many amenities, plus Men’s, Women’s, and Junior tees, make the Pines a natural gathering point for friends, business associates, and families. Our scenic course is conveniently located on Point Marion Road, and you’ll find both the Pines’ staff and members friendly and welcoming.
